Punjab: Vande Bharat Express to Halt at Gurdaspur

Punjab: Boosting rail connectivity in Punjab’s border region, the Amritsar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express will now also make a stop at Gurdaspur. This move is expected to enhance travel convenience and improve accessibility for the residents of the district. Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu welcomed this decision and expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for prioritizing infrastructure development in the border areas.

He stated that this decision reflects the government’s vision of empowering border districts and strengthening connectivity in these strategically important regions. Bittu remarked, “Today, with great pride and joy, I welcome this decision… which once again demonstrates the government’s clear vision of empowering border districts and strengthening infrastructure in the border region. It is a matter of satisfaction that the Vande Bharat Express (26405/26406 Amritsar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra) will now also halt at Gurdaspur, thereby enhancing connectivity and convenience for the people.”
