Punjab: Two people arrested with stolen bike

Phagwara: Police arrested two vehicle thieves on Monday night and recovered a stolen motorcycle (registration number Punjab-91E-3690) from their possession. The arrested suspects have been identified as Deepak Kumar and Jai Krishna of Saprod village. They were caught at a check point near here. A case has been registered against the arrested suspects.

Case registered against three travel agents

Phagwara: On the complaint of Tirlochan Singh, a resident of Nakodar, police have registered a case against three travel agents running Dream Visa Overseas in Phagwara. These agents have been accused of duping the complainant of lakhs of rupees in the name of sending him abroad. The victim told the police that the suspects named Jagbir Singh, Aniket and Komal, residents of Ludhiana, neither sent him abroad nor returned his money. Police have started investigating the case.

Thieves raid general store

Phagwara: Some unidentified miscreants committed theft in a general store in Ratanpura area here on Monday night. The thieves broke the shutter and entered the shop and escaped with goods and cash worth Rs 9,500. Police have registered a case in this regard on the complaint of shop owner Mahinder Kumar.

Four persons booked for assault

Phagwara: Shahkot Khas police have booked four persons for allegedly attacking a villager. Investigating officer Jang Bahadar said the suspects have been identified as Jasvir Singh alias Pappa, Jasvir alias Nai, Sukhraj Singh and Major Singh. All of them are residents of Bagga village. Lovepreet Singh of Bagga village told police that the suspects surrounded him on December 25 and injured him with weapons and also threatened him. The investigating officer said a case has been registered against the suspects under sections 115(2), 351(3), 126(2) and 3(5) of the BNS.
