Punjab: Sangat from 40 villages started Kar Seva to clean the holy Kali Bein

Punjab: Sangat from various villages in the area launched a massive cleanliness drive to clean and protect the sacred Kali Bein, sanctified by the presence of Guru Nanak Dev. A few days ago, at a meeting led by environmentalist Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, people from approximately 40 villages pledged to take responsibility for the cleanliness and beauty of the Bein. It was also decided that each village would participate in a weekly kar seva. As part of this initiative, Sangat from approximately seven villages, including Chakkchela, Talwandi Madho, Sohal Khalsa, Mala, Sherpur, Seechewal, and Tarpur, reached the Bein to perform the cleaning work. Sarpanch Boota Singh Seechewal, Sarpanch Amrik Singh, and Sarpanch Joga Singh praised Sant Seechewal’s efforts to bring the villages together for seva. They expressed their great privilege to serve Baba Nanak’s sacred Bein. He also explained that due to Sant Seechewal’s persistent efforts, the Bein is now flowing in its original form again, and the site has become an important pilgrimage site in Sikh history, where thousands of devotees visit daily for a holy dip. Surjeet Singh Shanti, a member of the Sangat, said he felt fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate in this sacred service. He further stated that rebuilding the Bein once seemed almost impossible, but through the collective efforts of the Sangat, it became possible and is now being talked about worldwide. Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal thanked the Sangat and said that the transformation seen in the Bein over the past 25 years is entirely due to the Sangat’s selfless service. He appealed to everyone to understand their responsibility and participate in this cleanup campaign to preserve the significance and beauty of this sacred place. On this occasion, a large number of devotees including Gurdev Singh Fauji, Satnam Singh Sadhvi, Ranjit Singh, Sukhjit Singh Soni, Gurdeep Singh, Hardev Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Jagjit Singh, Amritpal Singh, Jassa Singh, Gursevak, Jagdeep Singh, Gurpreet Singh participated in the Kar Seva.
