Punjab: The Public Works Department (PWD) has saved Rs 1,464 crore in the last four years through a transparent tendering system, Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said on Thursday.
He said the government has set a target of building or upgrading 45,000 km of roads by June 30, 2026. This work includes building 4,700 km of new roads and maintaining and widening existing roads. He said the project will cost Rs 16,209 crore.
