Punjab: Petrol pump employee robbed of Rs 2.18 lakh

Punjab: Some miscreants, named in the attempt to loot a petrol pump in Narayanpura village, about 30 km from here, targeted the employees again last night and looted Rs 2.18 lakh. The victims have been admitted to Abohar Civil Hospital for treatment. The victim Tek Chand, who is undergoing treatment, said that he works as a manager at a petrol pump in Narayanpura village. He said that on August 1, when he was sleeping, some youths attacked him and tried to loot him. He said that a case was registered against the miscreants, however they got bail. Chand said that he was returning home with about Rs 2.18 lakh from the petrol pump. He said that his younger brother Laxman was also with him. He said that about 2 km from the station, some youths stopped him and Laxman and started beating them. He said that they snatched his bag full of cash and ran away. He said that he called the petrol pump owner, the owner informed the police. Senior Superintendent of Police Varinder Singh Brar said that investigation into the case is underway and action will be taken against the culprits.
