Punjab: Parents of school students riding in a bus that fell into a ravine at Tikkar Tal in Morni Hills heaved a sigh of relief as their children miraculously escaped unhurt. The actual reason behind the accident is yet to be ascertained, but the bus conductor Satnam Singh said brake failure was a major reason behind the accident. The district administration has set up a helpdesk at Amargarh police station to help the parents.
SSP Gagan Ajit Singh said they are in constant touch with the school administration and the Haryana government. Assistant Commissioner Gurmeet Bansal said, “I spoke to principal Ishita Arora who confirmed that around 20 people, including the driver and students, have been injured.” Prabhjot Singh, whose wife and children were with the other students, said God has saved precious and innocent lives. “My entire family heaved a sigh of relief when they came to know that all those travelling in the ill-fated bus are safe,” Prabhjot said. He said that the management of Nankana Sahib Public School had planned a one-day excursion for the students.
