Punjab: One killed, 16 injured in accidents amid dense fog

Punjab: A PRTC bus conductor was killed and 16 people were injured on the Sangrur-Barnala highway near Bahadurpur village on Friday in two accidents caused by poor visibility due to dense fog. In the first accident, a PRTC bus going from Sangrur to Bathinda could not see the tractor ahead and collided with the tractor-trailer. The bus conductor died on the spot in this accident.
The second accident occurred when an ambulance from Mastuana Sahib reached the spot to take the injured to the civil hospital in Sangrur. Again, due to poor visibility, a truck hit the ambulance, injuring two people. The deceased conductor has been identified as Ramandeep Singh (32), a resident of Malout in Muktsar district. Dr Baljit Singh, SMO of Sangrur Civil Hospital, said that 15 injured were discharged after first aid.
