Punjab: Nabha youth dies in car fire

Punjab: The car of a 28-year-old Nabha resident caught fire after colliding with a truck on Patiala-Nabha road around 11.30 pm on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Navreet Singh. Navreet and his two friends Malvinder and Arshdeep were reportedly going to Patiala by car. When they reached near Rauni village on Nabha road, their car was hit by a truck and caught fire. Injured Malvinder and Arshdeep managed to get out of the car. Navreet, who was driving the car, could not do so. People pulled Navreet out of the car and rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. On Sunday, the police have started investigation by recording Arshdeep’s statement. Arshdeep said that there were no reflectors on the truck and its indicators were also not working. He said that the accident happened due to the sudden turn of the truck. The car first collided with the truck and then hit a tree, after which it caught fire. Police have registered a case against the unknown truck driver and started investigation.
