Punjab: Additional Sessions Judge, Fast Track Special Court (POCSO), Tarn Taran Singh Bindra has sentenced a man to rigorous life imprisonment for repeatedly raping his minor stepdaughter in 2021. A fine of Rs one lakh has also been imposed on him. The court has also ordered compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the victim.
Richpal Singh allegedly had physical relations with his 14-year-old stepdaughter in 2021. The girl’s mother alleged in the FIR that her second husband Richpal Singh used to rape her daughter when she used to go to work as a labourer in kinnow orchards. The victim is the daughter of her first husband. A case was registered on May 27, 2021 at Khuian Sarwar police station in Abohar subdivision of Fazilka district under Section 376 of IPC and various provisions of POCSO Act.
