Punjab: Jainika excelled by scoring 99.8% marks in class 10th

Punjab: Jainika Jain has topped the city in the Class 10 results declared by CBSE on Tuesday. She is a student of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School in Shastri Nagar. She scored 99.8 per cent marks in the exam. Her father Rajan Jain works in the hosiery sector here while mother Rajni Jain is a housewife. Her two siblings, a sister and a brother, also study in the same school. Speaking to the Tribune, an excited Jainika said she credits her results to her school teachers as well as parents. Her hard work and months-long efforts got her the expected results. When asked about the mantra behind her success, Jainika summed it up in two words – ‘self-study’. She said, “I have never taken tuitions in my studies till date. I believe in self-study. It is a misconception that a student cannot become a topper without taking tuitions. This is a living example of this. One just needs to have passion and dedication towards studies and try to learn everything at school level.” Jainika said that since she did not take tuitions, she used to clear most of her doubts when teachers taught in the classrooms. Talking about her goals, Jainika said that she will continue to study commerce stream in the same school. Jainika’s father Rajat Jain said, “My daughter has sacrificed her social life to achieve success. She never used to attend wedding ceremonies or any social functions. Many times, when we used to force her to accompany us to weddings, she used to refuse to study.” Ashnoor Kaur, Mehreen Bains and Navdha Kukreja, students of BCM Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, scored 99.4 per cent marks in the examination and secured second position.
