Punjab: International Punjabi Olympiad 2025, registration begins on August 18

Punjab: To promote and preserve the Punjabi mother tongue, the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced the launch of the International Punjabi Olympiad 2025. PSEB chairman Dr Amarpal Singh informed that the registration process for the Olympiad will begin online from August 18 and will continue till October 31, 2025. Interested students can register on the official portal https://olympiad.pseb.ac.in/, which will go live from August 18. The registration fee for the primary group (8-12 years) has been reduced from Rs 100 to Rs 50, while for the middle group (12-14 years) and secondary group (14-17 years), it will be Rs 100. Students willing to participate from across the world will have to pay a fee of Rs 800. Unlike the 2023 and 2024 editions, where questions were based only on prepared material, this year’s Olympiad will also feature questions from age-appropriate syllabus. This will ensure that students stay connected to their academic curriculum while preparing for the Olympiad. In another significant change, for the first time, the exam will be conducted both online and offline. Earlier, it was conducted only online. The winners will be given cash prizes and schools and teachers with the highest registrations and positions at the district level will also be specially felicitated. Over 35,000 students participated in the last two editions of the Olympiad and the board expects even more participation this year. Earlier, a special conference was organised on the topic ‘How Punjabi mother tongue can become the heartbeat of the youth’, which received an overwhelming response from both teachers and students.
