Punjab: Gangster arrested after brief encounter

Punjab: Gangster Sukhwinder Singh alias Kaka alias Shaili, a resident of Muradpur area of ​​Tarn Taran, was injured in a brief encounter with local police on Sunday. He was wanted in connection with the recent broad daylight killing of commission agent Gurdeep Singh Gokha in Sathiyala village of Baba Bakala subdivision. SSP Abhimanyu Rana said he was an associate of gangster-turned-terrorist Lakhbir Singh Landa. “He was involved in the shootout incidents in Piddi village here and Tarn Taran on August 9 and 10 respectively,” he said. After interrogation, he was taken to the canal bank where he had hidden his weapon used in various crimes, the SSP said. He opened fire at the police, in response to which the police opened fire in self-defence, injuring the gangster. He has been admitted to the local civil hospital for treatment.
