Punjab: Farmers organizations will block rail traffic on October 3

Punjab: Exactly three years after four farmers died under the SUV of Union Minister of State Ajay Mishra in Lakhimpur Kheri, the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC) has announced a rail traffic blockade on October 3. The committee has finalised various sites where rail traffic will be halted. A detailed programme in this regard will be announced by the panel’s chairman Sarwan Singh Pandher in Jalandhar tomorrow. “We will stop trains at Lohian Junction on that day,” said farmer union activist Salwinder S Janian of Shahkot. KMSC media coordinator Harpreet Singh said they would also raise the issue of red entries in land records and fines imposed on farmers for stubble burning.
