Punjab: A local court in Chandigarh has acquitted former Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Anmol Gagan Mann and three other AAP leaders in a case filed against them in connection with a protest outside a BJP office three years ago. The other acquitted leaders include Rajwinder Kaur Gill alias Raj Gill, Dr. Sunny Singh Ahluwalia, and Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Gill.
The Chandigarh Police had registered a case against the AAP leaders in August 2021 based on a complaint by Assistant Sub-Inspector Mahabir Singh. The ASI alleged that Mann, Gill, Dr. Ahluwalia, and Arsh, along with several members of the AAP women’s wing, had gathered to protest outside the BJP office in Sector 37, Chandigarh, on August 29. When they broke through barricades, they injured policemen, who were admitted to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital in Sector 16, Chandigarh.
