Punjab: According to reports, a little boy named Kala was returning to his family’s hut after selling junk items at a local scrap shop. While he was crossing the Abohar-Fazilka road, he was hit by a speeding car. According to sources, the impact was so severe that the child was thrown several feet away from the spot of collision. Eyewitnesses present at the spot saw the car driver stop the car for a while and rush the injured child to a private hospital located on Nai Sadak. However, instead of seeking medical help, the driver left Kala outside the hospital and fled from the spot. Eventually, a passerby named Hartej saw Kala’s condition and rushed him to the Civil Hospital in his car. The child received several stitches on his head in the emergency ward. After initial treatment, doctors referred him to a hospital in Bathinda for further care. Meanwhile, Kala’s family appealed to the local authorities to trace the hit-and-run driver using CCTV footage from nearby areas and take appropriate legal action against him.
