Punjab: Bike rider dies after colliding with a stray animal, friend injured

Punjab: A bike rider died and his friend was seriously injured last night when their bike collided with a stray animal that suddenly came on the road. Chaman Lal, husband of the woman sarpanch of Dhani Mandla village, was returning home with his friend Satnam Singh. As soon as they reached Dhani Naiya, their bike collided with a stray bull. The collision was so severe that 60-year-old Satnam Singh, who was riding the bike, died on the spot. Chaman Lal was seriously injured. Passersby rushed both of them to Abohar Civil Hospital, where doctors declared Satnam Singh dead. Chaman Lal was then referred to GGS Medical College Hospital in Faridkot for treatment of head injury. After the post-mortem was completed on Saturday, the police handed over the body of Satnam Singh to his family. Local residents expressed concern over the threat posed by stray animals and said that many people have died due to this problem, but the government has not taken any effective steps to solve it.
