Punjab: 97 bottles of liquor seized

Punjab: A team led by Assistant Sub Inspector Bhupinder Singh of City-1 police station seized 88 bottles of illicit liquor which a bike rider, identified as Amandeep Singh, a resident of Seed Farm, was carrying for sale. The bike was stopped near Cotton Yard, a few metres away from the New Anaj Mandi, and checked. The bike rider was arrested and a case was registered under the Excise Act. In a separate incident, Jawahar Lal of City-2 police station seized 9 bottles of liquor from Kalu Ram, a resident of Subhash Nagar, and later arrested him.
