Punjab: Sangrur District Police today arrested two drug peddlers from Sherpur area and seized 1.20 kg heroin, 10 kg poppy husk, drug money worth Rs 4.15 lakh, a car and a scooter from them. Sangrur SSP Sartaj Singh Chahal said here today that the arrested persons include Devinder Singh, resident of Tibba village (Sherpur) and Hardeep Singh, resident of Longowal village. He said nine cases are registered against Devinder, while two cases are registered against Hardeep. The SSP said the police party was present at Bari T-point when they received information that Devinder and Hardeep were going in a car to supply heroin and poppy husk to some customers in the villages. He said after receiving information, the police caught both of them.
