Maharashtra: The Health Department has taken steps to inspect private hospitals in the state. For this, the Health Department has prepared the rules. Hospitals will be inspected according to these rules. During this, the officials have also been instructed not to give unnecessary trouble to the doctors. All private hospitals in the state will be inspected by the Health Department. This will include hospitals that are associated with private medical practice and have at least one hospital bed. Along with this, hospitals of all branches including allopathy, AYUSH, Unani, naturopathy will be inspected. Day care centers where patients are not admitted for 24 hours will not be included in this. Dr. Radhakishan Pawar, Deputy Director of Health, Pune Division has prepared the rules for this inspection.
He has instructed the Municipal Corporation Health Chief, District Health Officer and Surgeon to complete this inspection within 15 days. It will be checked whether the hospital is registered under the Bombay Nursing Home Act or not. Asha, health workers and health workers will prepare a list of unregistered hospitals. These hospitals will be asked to get registered. It is mandatory for doctors to pay registration fee every year. The fee should be charged at the revised rate while renewing the registration. The number of doctors and nurses as per the rules in the hospital and the rate sheet displayed outside the hospital should be checked. The fire department’s no objection certificate should be checked from the hospital. Information about the disposal of biomedical waste in the hospital should be obtained. The rules state that the patients of the hospital should be interacted with and their feedback should be taken. Medical officers should inspect the hospitals under their jurisdiction within 15 days.
After completing this inspection, its report should be submitted to the concerned district health officer, district surgeon and city health chief. After this, these senior officers should issue notices to the hospitals in which errors are found and ask them to rectify within a month. After this, they should inspect again within 15 days, the rule also states. Private hospitals follow the rules. Therefore, the health department should first clarify what exactly it will inspect. Along with this, prior notice of the inspection should be given to the hospitals. Apart from this, many times hospitals are harassed in the name of inspection.
