Pune: Famous astronomer Jayant Narlikar passed away at the age of 87

Maharashtra : Renowned Indian astrophysicist Jayant Narlikar died at his residence in Pune on Monday morning. He was 86 years old. Narlikar was internationally known for his work and was also known for his engaging Marathi science fiction writing. He had a unique ability to explain complex scientific concepts in simple, beautiful language. He returned to India after completing his studies at the University of Cambridge and initially worked at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. He later played a key role in setting up the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) in Pune. In 2021, he served as the president of the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan held in Nashik.
