Tamil Nadu: The Metropolitan Police Commissioner has issued an order banning protests in Tirunelveli district for 15 days from today.
Tirunelveli City Police Commissioner Santosh Hathi Mani has ordered a ban on public gatherings, meetings, rallies, protests and demonstrations for the next 15 days to maintain public peace and security in the city areas.
The prohibitory order has been issued under Section 41(2) of the Chennai City Police Act, 1997.
The order will be effective from midnight 00:00 of today (7 June, 2025) to midnight 24:00 of 21 June, 2025.
This information was announced in a press release issued by the Tirunelveli Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s office today.
