Property worth 40 lakhs of a male and female smuggler was confiscated, one Activa was also seized

Durg. The property of 2 ganja smugglers has been confiscated in Bhilai of the district. Taking action on Tuesday, the police reached the house of G. Sarojini and G. Dhanraju and the seizure action was taken. Three houses of G. Sarojini worth about 40 lakhs and a scooty have been confiscated.

In fact, the police had arrested both of them in the case of ganja smuggling. An application was made in the SAFEMA Court (Sluggers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Court) in Mumbai for property seizure action. Durg Police told the SAFEMA Court that G. Sarojini has acquired houses and other properties from the money he earned by doing illegal business of selling narcotic substance ganja. In view of the evidence and demand given by the police, the court ordered to confiscate 3 residential houses and a two-wheeler of G. Sarojini.

ASP Padmashree Tanwar said that on September 6, 2024, in the case of illegal ganja smuggling in Khursipar area, Durg Police had arrested G. Sarojini was arrested and action was taken by registering a case under the NDPS Act. He said that G. Sarojini is a ganja smuggler. Several cases have been registered against him earlier for being involved in smuggling. Following the court order, the police have seized property worth Rs 40 lakh including G. Sarojini’s three houses and a scooty and a bike. During this, when he opposed the action, the police arrested him and brought him to the ASP office.
