Mumbai: A professor and a passenger who was travelling in a local train got into a fight. When the train reached the station and got down, the two got into a fight. In this context, the passenger stabbed the professor to death with a knife. Then he fled into the crowd. Alok Singh works as a professor in a prominent college in Vile Parle. He travelled in a local train on Saturday.

Meanwhile, a passenger and Professor Alok Singh had an argument over a seat on the train. When the train reached Malad station, a scuffle broke out at the gate, which led to a fight between the two. The man who got off the train pulled out a knife. He stabbed Professor Alok Singh, who was at the compartment gate, in the stomach several times. He fled into the crowd of people at the station.

On the other hand, Alok Singh, who was bleeding profusely due to the stab wounds, collapsed and died at the gate of the coach. RPF and GRP police immediately reached the spot. Alok Singh’s body was shifted to the government hospital for postmortem. CCTV footage from the railway station was examined. The police identified the man who fled after the stabbing as 27-year-old Omkar Shinde. He was arrested based on technical evidence, which showed him to be in Vasai.
