Private SUV with Siren and VIP Stickers Seized, FIR Filed Against Owner and Driver

Hyderabad: The Goshamahal Police on Tuesday, April 28, registered a case against a city resident and his driver after their private SUV was found illegally fitted with a siren and VIP stickers. The incident came to light after the vehicle drew attention on social media for the unauthorised use of sirens.
The white Toyota Fortuner was intercepted near the Traffic Training Institute in Goshamahal. The vehicle’s occupant, identified as Girish Kumar Agarwal, reportedly misbehaved with the police officers and produced an identity card from an organisation called the “National Human Rights Organization” to justify the siren and VIP stickers. His driver, Hanuma Reddy, and two other associates, including one absconding accused named Nagesh, were implicated in the case.
The police have registered a first information report (FIR) against Agarwal, his driver, and the other two accused under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including cheating the government, impersonation, and creating public panic. In addition, violations of sections 177 and 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act have been invoked, covering unauthorised driving and causing danger on the road.
The vehicle has been seized by authorities, and notices have been issued to the remaining accused to appear before the Goshamahal Police Station on Wednesday, April 29. The Hyderabad Police have emphasised that unauthorised use of sirens and VIP stickers on private vehicles is a serious offence that will be met with strict legal action.
Police officials warned that attempts to misuse identity cards or impersonate government-authorised personnel to bypass traffic rules would not be tolerated. They also highlighted that social media plays a key role in bringing such incidents to their notice, allowing prompt action to be taken.
