Tripura: BJP candidate from East Tripura, Kriti Singh Debbarma filed his nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections in Ambassa in Dhalai district.
She is preparing for her first election campaign in the ST-reserved Lok Sabha constituency.
Kriti Debbarma, married to Yogeshwar Raj Singh of the former Kawardha Raj royal family of Chhattisgarh, is the younger daughter (princess) of late Kirit Bikram Kishore Manikya Debbarma and sister of Tipra Motha Party (TMP) founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma.
At a major rally ahead of his nomination, BJP state president Rajiv Bhattacharjee told supporters that they can celebrate Holi early as they do not need to wait till June 4 for the results.
He confirmed BJP’s alliance with Tipra Motha and IPFT for the 2024 assembly elections with the aim of making Tripura the best state.
Advising BJP supporters to exercise caution, Rajiv Bhattacharjee said, ‘Today our opposition will be surprised by our strength. We should be careful and not confront them. However, we will not remain silent if they try to instigate us. I urge our workers to remain united and focused.
Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, who accompanied his sister Kriti Singh Debbarma to the rally, criticized the Congress and CPI(M) for raising questions over Tipra Motha’s alliance with the BJP.
The BJP issued the ticket to Pradyot’s sister almost two weeks after the Narendra Modi government signed a tripartite agreement with the Tripura government and the Tipra Party, aimed at finding a respectful solution to all the issues of the indigenous people of the state. A solution had to be found.
