Udhampur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made two big announcements while addressing a rally in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. PM Modi has said that full statehood will be restored in Jammu and Kashmir and assembly elections will be held here soon. This announcement of the Prime Minister is also very important because all the political parties including National Conference and PDP have been demanding elections in Jammu and Kashmir since the removal of Article 370. PM Modi said in Friday’s rally, ‘I have been visiting Udhampur and Jammu and Kashmir. I remember the welcome that was given in Udhampur during the unity rally of 1992. At that time our aim was to hoist the tricolor flag at Lal Chowk. PM Modi said, ‘In 2014, I paid obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi temple. Addressed the rally at this place in Udhampur. Then I had guaranteed that I would remove the problems of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. I have fulfilled my guarantee. This is the first election when cross-border terrorism, stone pelting and attacks are not election issues. This election is not just to elect MPs. This election is to form a strong government at the Centre. Prime Minister Modi further said, ‘It is on this very ground that 10 years ago I had said that you should have faith in me. I will resolve decades old issues. I had guaranteed to protect the honor and dignity of women. People will get free ration for the next 5 years, people of Jammu and Kashmir are getting Ayushman medical insurance cover. Roads have been built in remote areas. Mobile connectivity has been extended to remote areas. Modi’s guarantee means guarantee of fulfillment.
