Preparations underway to soon begin the admission process at Delhi University following CUET-UG 2026.

Delhi: With the declaration of CUET-UG 2026 results, the admission process for undergraduate courses at Delhi University (DU) is likely to commence next week. University authorities have indicated that preparations for undergraduate admissions are in the final stages, and the process will be formally launched soon.

As in previous years, the admission process will be conducted through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal. Students will be required to register on this portal, select their preferred courses and colleges, and participate in the seat allocation process. The CSAS portal will soon be opened for students, marking the start of the application and preference-submission phase.

According to sources within the university’s admission department, there will be no increase in the total number of undergraduate seats this year; admissions will be offered for approximately the same number of seats as last year. It is estimated that Delhi University will conduct the CUET-UG-based admission process for around 70,000 undergraduate seats across its 91 colleges.

This year too, admissions to all regular undergraduate programs will be based entirely on CUET-UG 2026 scores. It is mandatory for students to register on the CSAS portal and carefully select their preferred programs and colleges. Subsequently, the seat allocation process will be carried out in multiple rounds.

Administrative officials have also hinted at possible changes to certain subject combinations within the Bachelor of Arts (BA) program. However, detailed information regarding these changes has not yet been released. The university has clarified that details concerning all revised rules and new subject combinations will be made public alongside the official undergraduate admission schedule and CSAS guidelines. According to a senior official, “The undergraduate admission process is expected to begin within a week. The total number of seats will remain the same as last year. Changes to certain subject combinations in the BA programme are being considered, and a formal announcement regarding this will be made once the schedule is released.”

Since the implementation of the CUET-based admission system at Delhi University, the admission process is considered more centralized and transparent. Under this system, a merit list is prepared based on students’ CUET scores, and seats are allocated to colleges accordingly.

Students are advised to complete their registration promptly once the CSAS portal opens and to fill in their preferences carefully, as seat allocation will depend entirely on their choices and scores.

The process will involve seat allocation, upgradation, and document verification across multiple rounds. After each round, students must accept their allotted seat within the stipulated timeframe.

Currently, the university administration is engaged in final preparations, and a detailed admission schedule is likely to be released soon. Once released, the undergraduate admission process—eagerly awaited by aspirants across the country—will formally commence for thousands of students.
