Raigarh. In the morning, police station in-charge Kapu Inspector Narayan Singh Markam received information about a woman being beaten to death by her husband in village Batti. After informing the senior officers about the information, the police station in-charge immediately left for the spot with his staff. Where the dead body of deceased Lakshmi Bai Majhwar (age 26 years) was found lying at her house. Regarding the incident, the deceased’s brother-in-law Jaylal Majhwar (25 years) told that on the morning of April 12, Lakshmi Majhwar and her husband Jaipal Baiga had gone to their fields to pick Mahua. From where Lakshmi returned home alone. When Jaipal Baiga came home from the farm at around 04.00 in the evening, he saw Lakshmi sleeping on the cot. Jaipal Baiga started a fight by telling his wife not to cook food and then beat up Lakshmi Bai with the help of the tangiya’s son (stick) kept in the house.
