Balrampur. The case of smuggling of valuable timber from the forests of the district has come to the fore. The smugglers were taking the wood to Jharkhand by hiding it under the jackfruit. Meanwhile, the Chando police stopped the vehicle and inquired. During the search, 20 wooden blocks were recovered from under the jackfruit. The police have arrested one smuggler, while the other smuggler has escaped through the forest.
The whole matter pertains to Chando police station area of Balrampur. Chando police had received information about wood smuggling from the informer. After the information, the police was searching the vehicles by stopping them. During this, a vehicle was stopped by the police. The top of the vehicle had jackfruit but the bottom had 20 wooden blocks. The police have arrested a smuggler in the case by laying siege. The pickup vehicle used in smuggling has also been seized by the police. The arrested accused has been sent to the court on judicial remand. At the same time, the second accused has escaped through the forest. The police is on the lookout for the second accused. Along with this, the Chando police is taking further action in the matter.
