Hyderabad : Political game in Andhra Pradesh is likely to witness a major change as TDP, Jana Sena and BJP seem to be cozying up quickly.
This indication was available after the one-hour long unannounced meeting that took place between Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday. A clear action plan is likely to emerge in about a week’s time.
The focus of the meeting, it is learnt, was how to firm up the unity and launch a joint fight against YSRCP. Naidu, it may be mentioned here, held talks with CPI leader K Ramakrishna at Vijayawada on Friday. Ramakrsihna informed Naidu that the left-wing party was willing to join hands with TDP-Jana Sena provided BJP was not part of it.
However, it appears that TDP and Jana Sena are more inclined to go along with BJP. According to sources, when Pawan Kalyan met BJP leaders in Delhi, he was given a route map. This was followed by Naidu praising Modi to the sky. He said both share the same vision and that he had nothing personally against Modi. When asked if there was a possibility of an alliance, he said “it is a matter of time”.
The BJP, which was wavering so far, has now formed a 11-member committee of national leaders from AP to prepare a charge sheet against YSRCP and file complaints with all probe agencies. In the backdrop of these developments, the meeting of Naidu and Pawan is seen as a step forward. The possibility of having a common manifesto or common minimum programme is also not ruled out.
As Pawan is all set to hit the road in his new campaign vehicle Varahi from Rayalaseema, both the leaders discussed the possibility of obstructions YSRCP may create and how to face it and what legal options are available. It may be mentioned that TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh is also on padayatra in the region. They also felt that their campaign should be in sync with each other. It was further decided that there would be a few more one-to-one such meetings between the two.
