Raigarh. Under the direction of SP Divyang Kumar Patel, action is going on against the transportation and storage of illegal junk in Raigarh district as part of curbing property-related crimes. In this sequence, on December 27, 2024, the Punjipathra police seized a Mazda vehicle transporting illegal scrap and dumped iron scrap in two separate actions.
During patrolling, the police received information from an informer in village Taraimal that a white Swaraj Mazda (number CG 13 UF 2306) was going from Raigarh to Gerwani carrying illegal scrap. On information, the police stopped the vehicle near Gerwani Chowk and investigated. Scrap (1100 kg) worth ₹33,000 loaded in the vehicle of driver Rajesh Soni (30 years), resident of Ludeg, Police Station Pathalgaon, District Jashpur was seized. Based on the information of informer, Punjipathra Police raided Binny Dhaba, Gerwani and seized iron scrap (250 kg, worth ₹7,500) dumped by accused Bhagirathi Sidar (23 years) at village Kodamai, Police Station Lalunga, currently residing at Binny Dhaba. In both the cases, action has been taken against the accused under separate FIR No. 27, 28 Section 35 (a) (d) BNSS / 303 (2) BNS.
Head constable Lomesh Rajput, Vineet Tirkey and constable Abhishek Dwivedi played an active role in this action. Action against illegal scrap business will continue in the district.
