Mahasamund. Taking major action against fake notes, Mahasamund Police has recovered fake notes of Rs 500-500 worth Rs 3 crore 80 lakh. The accused were taking these fake notes from Sarangarh to Raipur via Saraipali. In this case, the driver has been arrested and the vehicle used for transportation has been seized. The accused was hiding fake notes inside the vehicle under the guise of sarees. Saraipali police has taken this action on the information of the informer.
In a press conference this afternoon, Superintendent of Police Mahasamund Rajesh Kukreja and Additional Superintendent of Police Akash Rao Girepunje said that continuous checking action is being taken to stop the transportation of illegal materials, narcotics, money and precious metals from the borders. Saraipali police had received information from the informer that the fake currency was going from Sarangarh towards Raipur in a pickup. On this, the police immediately cordoned off Agrasen Chowk Saraipali and recovered fake notes worth Rs 3 crore 80 lakh in 4 plastic sacks from the possession of accused Arun Sidar (18 years) of Saraipali police station Saraipali, inside which a total of 760 bundles of Rs 500 each were recovered.
On interrogating the accused, he told that he was doing this work for the greed of money along with another associate of his. Since this act of the accused was found to be a crime under section 44, crime number 39/2024 section 489 (b) (c) 34 has been registered in Saraipali police station and taken under investigation. A crime was registered against the accused in Saraipali police station and all the fake notes were seized.
