Raipur. To maintain peace and order, the district and police administration are keeping a close watch on social media in Balodabazar district. Based on the report of the district level social media monitoring committee, Google, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp companies are being contacted by the cyber cell to identify suspicious IDs. Under which 88 URLs were sent to Meta. Out of which action has been taken to close 19 Instagram pages. Also, videos have been deleted from 3 Instagram pages.
Along with this, subdivision Girod has identified 5 criminals and action has been taken against one under section 107,116 (3). Along with this, four have accepted the apology and their families have also been counseled in the said cases. Apart from this, with the help of cyber police and station in-charges, action is being taken by identifying the persons doing unconstitutional and illegal work in social media.
Collector Deepak Soni has appealed to the people of the district to avoid posting inflammatory content on social media. If any person’s post is inflammatory or disturbs social harmony, strict action will definitely be taken. It is worth noting that keeping in mind the impact of social media in the context of law and order, a district level social media monitoring committee has been formed to monitor the activities going on in the social media related to the district and to take immediate action on articles related to negative activities. Through which negative articles and facts are being monitored 24 hours a day on social media. If unconstitutional, unconstitutional, illegal and objectionable posts, comments etc. are found, the committee is sending daily information to the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate and the concerned Sub-Divisional Officer Police for immediate action.
