Raigarh. The administration and police teams are keeping a close watch to prevent illegal excavation, transportation and storage of sand and other minerals in the district. On the instructions of SP Divyang Kumar Patel, under the leadership of trainee IPS Akash Shrishrimal, working in Kharsia police station, a joint team of police staff of Kharsia police station, outpost Kharsia and Chowki Jobi was formed and raided several places on the information of illegal excavation/transportation of sand in the area. Transportation was examined.
During this time, on receiving information about illegal transportation of sand, the police team blocked NH49 near Palgada and took action against 05 tractors engaged in illegal transportation of sand and seized the tractor-trolley. Non-applicant tractor driver caught on the spot – (1) Aryan Rathiya (21 years), resident of Palgada (2) Ajay Kumar Sidar (24 years), Amlidih police station, Sakti district, (28 years) (3) Rajendra Kumar Tandon, 28 years, resident of Jajang police station, Sakti. (4) Rajendra Giri (26 years), resident of Sarwani police station, Kharsia (5) Lalit Sidar, father Jeet Ram Sidar, 55 years, resident of Amalitikara police station, Sakti, tractor trolley was filled with sand. When the drivers were asked for necessary documents regarding sand transportation, they were not able to present any documents. Kharsia Police has taken action against all the tractor drivers under Section 102 CrPC and informed the Mineral Department.
