Plus 2 General elections in Tamil Nadu begin tomorrow: 8.27 lakh candidates are writing in

Tamil Nadu: The Plus 2 General Exam under the state syllabus is scheduled to be held on Monday (March 2). A total of 827,475 candidates, including 27,783 individual candidates, will appear for the exam.

In Tamil Nadu, the Plus 2 General Exam for the current academic year (2025-2026) will be held from March 2 to March 26. A total of 827,475 students, including 799,692 school students and 27,783 individual candidates, will appear for the exam. In the Plus 2 class, 7,465 students will appear for the exam with the help of scribes. 281 jail inmates have registered to appear for the General Exam.

3,412 election centers have been set up for this purpose. More than 49,000 teachers will participate in the election process every day. More than 4,900 flying squads have been formed to prevent malpractices during the general elections.

Earlier, in a virtual meeting held last Friday, Chief Observers and Election Observers were briefed on how to prepare for the general elections, including the number of students to be accommodated in a classroom, and whether classrooms have drinking water and adequate toilet facilities in schools.

Officials are continuously reviewing preparations at polling centers.

This year, candidates taking Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Business Mathematics, and Statistics for the Higher Secondary Examination will be provided with 20,000 A4-sized logarithm books in large print. It is worth noting that starting this year, candidates will be able to use simple calculators without programming features for the Accounting subject.

Principal Education Officers have been issued appropriate guidelines regarding the procedures to be followed for providing seating accommodation, appointing scribes, and granting extra time allowances to students with disabilities in the Plus 2 public examination.

Exams for language subjects, including Tamil, will be held on Monday, the first day of the Plus 2 general examination.

Previously, mock exams for this class were held from February 9 to February 14, and the scores have been uploaded to the website.
