New Delhi. On the occasion of the country’s 80th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the countrymen after hoisting the national flag from the ramparts of the Red Fort. In his speech, the Prime Minister mentioned the country’s development journey over the years, the steps taken towards self-reliance and India’s strong position amidst global challenges. He said that today India is more capable and prepared than ever before to face every kind of crisis.
Prime Minister Modi said that from the Corona epidemic to the ongoing tension in West Asia and global instability, some people continuously work to create an atmosphere of fear among the countrymen. He said that the work of such people is only to spread apprehensions, but in the last years the country has prepared such a system so that any challenge can be faced strongly.
India remained strong in times of crisis
The Prime Minister said that in the last 12 years, the country has worked rapidly towards self-reliance in many areas. He said that since 2014, the government has worked on such schemes and policies which have strengthened the country’s economy, energy security and supply system.
He said that today India has adequate availability of essential commodities like petrol, diesel, fertilizer and gas. Strong arrangements have been made to meet the needs of the country during any global crisis. The Prime Minister said that due to the visionary policies of the government, India is not going to stop under any circumstances.
Emphasis on self-reliant India
In his address, Prime Minister Modi also mentioned the Self-reliant India campaign. He said that the country has taken important steps towards self-reliance in sectors like defence, energy, agriculture, industry and technology. India is now becoming not just a country that fulfills needs, but one that has the ability to provide solutions to the world.
He said that India is reaching new heights due to the hard work of the country’s youth, farmers, scientists and entrepreneurs. The Prime Minister said that this journey of development is not just the result of the government but of the collective efforts of 140 crore countrymen.
The country is moving forward with determination, not fear.
Prime Minister Modi said that some people find shortcomings in every achievement and try to scare the public. But the countrymen have seen in the last years that India can face even the biggest challenges.
He said that during the difficult times of the pandemic, India not only ensured the safety of its citizens but also helped many countries of the world. Similarly, despite global economic challenges, India is progressing rapidly.
Focus on new goals of development
The Prime Minister also mentioned the goal of a developed India in his speech. He said that India has to be made more strong, prosperous and self-reliant in the coming years. For this, participation of every citizen is necessary.
He said that the aim of the government schemes is to extend the benefits of development to every section of the country. Policies are being made keeping the poor, middle class, farmers and youth at the center.
India’s role is increasing in the world
Prime Minister Modi said that today the world is recognizing the potential and strength of India. India’s economy, technical capability and youth power are giving a new identity to the country.
He said that the country has taken many historic decisions in the past years and the results of these decisions are now visible. India is now playing its role on the global stage with confidence.
Appealed to the public to move forward
At the end of his address, the Prime Minister appealed to the countrymen to unite and contribute to nation building. He said that the coming times are full of opportunities for India and with collective efforts the country will establish new dimensions of development.
The Prime Minister’s message from the Red Fort was clear that India is not afraid of challenges, but has the ability to convert every crisis into an opportunity.
