The controversy over the title of Bollywood film ‘The Kerala Story 2’ has taken another turn in the Kerala High Court. Another public interest litigation has been filed seeking to remove the word ‘Kerala’ from the title of the film. It is known that the petitioners alleged that the film portrays the state of Kerala as a haven for terrorism and religious conversions and tarnishes the image of the state. The court also responded to this. While the release of the film was postponed.. the film team obtained permission from the division bench and released it. However, after the release of the film, a retired social science teacher and a woman lawyer practicing in the High Court jointly filed a petition demanding that the title of the film be changed. They said in the petition that using the name Kerala in the title would have a negative impact on Keralites worldwide and that this was a propaganda targeting only one section.
On the other hand, the film has received mixed reviews since its release. Currently, protests are being held in some parts of Kerala against the screening of the film.
