It is known that Azerbaijan Airlines flight Embraer E190AR took off from Baku Airport at 6.28 am local time. The plane was to land at Gronji Airport in Chechnya, Russia after about an hour of flight. However, shortly after the flight, it collided with a bird.

It is being told that there were 67 passengers on board the plane, out of which 42 passengers died, and 25 passengers survived. The passengers who lost their lives included 37 Azerbaijani citizens, 16 Russian citizens, 6 Kazakh citizens and 3 Kyrgyz citizens. There were five crew members on board the plane who died, including both pilots.
