Lucknow. The weather patterns in Uttar Pradesh have started changing rapidly. After the departure of monsoon, now pink cold has knocked in the state. Due to westerly winds and clear sky, the temperature is continuously falling. Its effect is clearly visible in the morning and late evening. Due to strong sunlight during the day, there is a feeling of mild heat, while as the sun sets, the cold winds are making people feel shivering. Due to this change in the weather, there are signs of onset of winter in the state.
On Monday, considerable coolness was felt in the atmosphere in many areas of Uttar Pradesh in the morning. People leaving their homes early in the morning have started feeling the need for light and warm clothes. However, as the day progressed, the temperature increased due to increasing sunlight and the weather remained normal in the afternoon. As evening approached, the temperature started coming down again and cool winds made the weather pleasant.
Temperature continuously falling due to westerly winds
According to meteorologists, moisture in the atmosphere is decreasing due to dry winds coming from the north-west direction. Due to clear sky the earth’s surface is cooling rapidly at night. This is the reason why the trend of decline in minimum temperature has started.
The effect of cold has become more clearly visible in western Uttar Pradesh. In Bulandshahr, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 18 degrees Celsius during the last 24 hours. In this way, a difference of about 13 degrees Celsius was seen in the day and night temperatures. Due to drop in minimum temperature, cold has started increasing late at night and early in the morning.
Cool morning and evening, bright sunshine in the afternoon
At present, there is a lot of difference between day and night weather in the state. People are feeling mild cold due to cold winds blowing in the morning, but due to strong sunlight in the afternoon, there is a feeling of heat.
The effect of this change in weather is also being seen in the capital Lucknow and cities like Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Agra, Meerut and Noida. Due to relatively low temperatures in the morning and evening, coolness is being felt in the atmosphere.
With changing weather, people’s daily routine has also started changing. People going for a morning walk have started wearing full sleeve clothes and light track suits. At the same time, there is a need to reduce the speed of fans and use light sheets at night.
Cold may increase further in the coming days
According to meteorological reports, the temperature of the state is likely to drop further in the coming days. The effect of active north-western dry winds and possible seasonal changes in the hilly areas may be visible in the plains.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to drop by about 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the next few days. However, the speed of drop in temperature will depend on local weather conditions. At present, there is a possibility of mild cold in the morning and evening and sunshine in the afternoon.
At present the weather is expected to be mainly dry
According to the state-level weather forecast released for October 20, the weather is expected to be mainly clear and dry in most parts of Uttar Pradesh. There is little possibility of a major change in the maximum temperature due to sunlight during the day.
However, in some national level weather forecasts, the possibility of thunder and lightning has also been mentioned at some places in Uttar Pradesh. In such a situation, it will be necessary to pay attention to the latest weather related warnings at the local level.
Take special care of health in changing weather
Due to increasing difference in morning and night temperatures, people need to be careful about their health. Especially children, elderly and people already facing respiratory problems should wear clothes according to the weather.
According to general advice from health experts, it can be useful to drink enough water, eat a balanced diet and wear light and warm clothes as needed in the morning and evening during sudden changes in temperature.
During changing weather, problems like cold and sore throat can also be seen. However, these can be caused not only by cold air but also by infection and other health related factors.
Signs of increasing cold around Diwali
There is a possibility of further drop in night temperatures in Uttar Pradesh as we move towards the last days of October. The current weather trend suggests that morning and late night coolness may gradually increase in the coming weeks.
According to experts, if the effect of clear sky and dry winds continues, a drop in the minimum temperature may be recorded. However, there is still time for the harsh winter to set in.
At present, the pink cold in Uttar Pradesh has started making people feel the arrival of winter. This changing pattern of weather between the shiver of morning and evening and the bright sunshine of afternoon may become more clearly visible in the coming days.
