GAURELA PENDRA MARWAH: Police has got great success in arresting the accused in the liquor smuggling case in Gaurela Pendra Marwahi district. Police has arrested three including the main accused from Bijuri in MP. Along with this, the car used for recce and piloting during smuggling has also been seized. All the accused are residents of Ambikapur district.
Actually, on Thursday, the police seized a suspicious pickup vehicle during patrolling in Marwahi. There was about 1420 liters of English branded liquor in the vehicle. During this, all the accused fled taking advantage of the darkness of the night. After this, the team of Marwahi Police and Cyber Cell started searching for the smugglers.
Within 72 hours, the police have arrested 2 associates including the main accused. The arrested accused are very old liquor smugglers. At present, their kingpin was running contracts in MP. He was also operating three liquor distilleries. According to the police, this kingpin of interstate liquor smuggling is connected to Bijuri Bhatti of Madhya Pradesh.
During investigation, the team reached Madhya Pradesh on the basis of documents found in the pickup vehicle. Information was received that these smugglers were carrying liquor in two different vehicles after loading the goods from Shahdol warehouse of MP. Out of these, one loaded vehicle 407 truck reached its intended destination, Bijuri Bhatti.
However, the second pickup vehicle was planned to be sent towards Surguja after entering Chhattisgarh as told by the furnace operator Rajnarayan Jaiswal, which was already caught by Marwahi police. Police is taking further action in the case.
