Phagwara: Youth arrested for kidnapping a girl

Phagwara: Police have arrested a youth for kidnapping a minor girl. The accused has been identified as Gurwinder Singh alias Gorra, a resident of Kot Sadar Khan village under Kot Ase Khan police station in Moga. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 137(2) (kidnapping) and 96 (trafficking of a child) of the BNS.

Case registered against two for phone theft

Phagwara: Police have arrested two youths and recovered four stolen mobile phones from them. They have been identified as Tarun Kumar, a resident of Preet Nagar, Phagwara and Deepak Kumar, resident of Bhagatpura. The accused have confessed to stealing the mobile phone of Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Gobindpura Mohalla, Phagwara, two days ago.

Mother and daughter injured in quarrel
Phagwara: On the complaint of migrant Sunalwari, police have registered a case against Sanjay Kumar and his wife Kajal under sections 354, 323, 340, 34, BNS. They are accused of attacking and seriously injuring the complainant and his daughter. Police are investigating the matter, but no arrest has been made yet. The injured have been admitted to the local civil hospital.
Man booked for kidnapping
Phagwara: Police have booked a resident for kidnapping a minor girl and forcing her to marry. The accused has been identified as Rahul Kumar, a resident of Jhugiyan Khude Road, Mehatpur. The victim’s father has complained to the police that the accused has kidnapped his minor daughter on the pretext of marriage. A case has been registered against the accused and raids are being conducted to nab him.
