Phagwara: Police have arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) who was absconding for the last 18 years. Investigating officer Balveer Chand said the accused Hardeep Singh is a resident of Gandhi Chowk, Shahkot. Police said the accused was wanted in a murder case registered in July 2006. Police have also arrested PO Harjot Singh alias Jota, a resident of village Dhando Wal, who was wanted in a drug smuggling case. OC
Four booked for cheating
Phagwara: Police have booked four Gujarati men for duping a Nakodar resident of Rs 1.19 crore. DSP Kulwant Singh Virk said the accused have been identified as Dhawal Kumar, Harshal Himmat, Vipin and Thakur Ajmolji. According to the complaint, the accused duped Paramjeet Rajpal, a resident of New Adarsh Nagar, Nakodar, of Rs 1.19 crore by luring him on the pretext of investing money in the share market.
