Phagwara: The High Court will hear on Monday a petition filed by film and television serial producer Ekta Kapoor. This petition is related to a case registered against her and others by the Nakodar police in the year 2013. Nakodar police has registered a case against Ekta Kapoor, her mother Shobha Kapoor and four members of her team involved in the production of the serial Pavitra Rishta and the owner of Zee TV under section 295-A of the IPC for hurting religious sentiments of the Valmiki community. This case was registered after a complaint was given to the police by Ronnie Gill, president of Bharatiya Valmiki Sarva Dharma Samaj and resident of Shankar. He had told the police that objectionable things were said about Maharishi Valmiki in the episode of the serial on August 5, 2013, which hurt the religious sentiments of the community.
