Permission sought again from Puducherry CM for Vijay’s road rally

Tamil Nadu: N. Anand, General Secretary of the TVK (PUSSY), met with Chief Minister N. Rangasamy again on Wednesday to request permission for TVK leader Vijay to hold a road rally in Puducherry.

TVK leader Vijay had requested permission to hold a road rally in Puducherry on the 5th. Permission was denied. The Puducherry government stated that permission would be granted for a public meeting. Puducherry police officials and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy had already met with TVK General Secretary N. Anand regarding this matter. Consequently, N. Anand met with Chief Minister Rangasamy again on Wednesday.

The meeting lasted about ten minutes in the Chief Minister’s chamber in the Assembly complex. At that time, permission was reportedly sought again for the road rally, which would be held from the Shivaji Statue to Kokku Park, a distance of only 1.5 km, where there would be no traffic congestion and a wide road. The police refused permission for this as well. Therefore, it appears that Anand had mentioned two locations for holding the public meeting.

Earlier, Law Minister Lakshmi Narayanan, DGP Shalini Singh, IG Ajit Kumar Singla, DGP Satyasundaram, and others met with the Chief Minister. They briefed Chief Minister Rangasamy on why permission was denied for the road rally in Puducherry, in which Vijay was to participate, and also explained the details of the High Court order.

Following this, discussions were held regarding the status of 68 Home Guard soldiers who had completed training but were not yet available for employment.
