Illendu DSP Chandrabhanu said that permission must be taken for public meetings and rallies as the election code is in force. She held a meeting with the leaders of political parties and the people at Balaji Nagar Gram Panchayat under Illendu Police Station on Wednesday and spoke to them. She asked everyone to cooperate so that the Gram Panchayat elections are held peacefully and impartially. She said that the following instructions must be followed.
– Distribution of money, alcohol and gifts is prohibited
– Every voter should vote for their preferred candidate without any pressure
– Acts like threatening, coercing and luring voters are crimes
– Campaigning should be done only during the fixed hours
– Speakers, microphones, posters and rallies should be held only when permitted
– Mobile phones, party symbols and campaign materials should not be carried at the polling station
– Vote should be cast peacefully by standing in queues
– Money exceeding Rs. 50 thousand should not be carried
He said that those violating the election rules and suspicious persons should be informed immediately. They should contact Dial 100 or Illendu Police Station. He said that celebrations, fireworks, rallies and large gatherings should not be held after the election results without police permission. He asked all the people to provide full cooperation to the police and come forward to conduct the elections peacefully.
