Business Business: Kia India registered a 17% year-on-year growth in September 2024. The company reported sales of 23,523 units this month. The company had registered sales of 20,022 units during the same period last year. Interestingly, the Kia Sonet continues to be the best-selling model of the company and continues to maintain its top position among other Kia models in terms of sales.
Kia India said that the company sold 10,335 units of the Sonet in September 2024, while it sold 6,959 and 6,217 units of the Seltos and Carens respectively during the month. Additionally, Kia India registered sales of 66,553 units in the third quarter of FY 2024-25, up nearly 10% from the second quarter sales of this year.
The company said that the Kia Sonet accounted for 45% of the sales in the third quarter of FY 2025. This was followed by the Seltos and Carens with a share of 28% and 27% respectively.
Earlier this month, Kia India launched the Seltos, Sonet and Carens Gravity variants. The new Gravity variant has been launched to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Kia India. The Seltos Gravity trim level, which sits above the HTX variant, is powered by a Smartstream G1.5 petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or an IVT. It is priced at Rs 16.63 lakh ex-showroom and Rs 18.06 lakh ex-showroom.
