Vijayawada: YSRC leaders, including Energy Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and North Andhra regional coordinator YV Subba Reddy, have made it clear that YS Sharmila joining the Congress will not have any impact on the ruling party. “Anyone joining the Congress will be considered our rival,” Peddireddy said. Speaking to media persons in Chittoor on Thursday, the Energy Minister said anyone associating with the Congress would be considered a rival of the YSRC and would be treated as such.
“It was Sonia Gandhi who divided the families. It is TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu who has stooped to such a low level.” Peddireddy reiterated that his only leader is Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his political journey will be with him only. He said, “The people of the state have seen how Jagan treats them as their family, and we are 100 per cent confident that they will retain Jagan as their Chief Minister with an even greater majority in the upcoming elections. “
Responding to Sharmila joining Congress, Subba Reddy said that it does not matter to him who joins which party. “We will just say that the people of Andhra Pradesh want to see Jagan again as the chief minister of the state,” he said.
The former TTD chairman said, “It will not matter how many alliances contest the upcoming elections in the state. “YSRC is certain to retain power and that too with a huge majority.” On the changes in YSRC coordinators of assembly constituencies, he said these were being done keeping the bigger picture in mind, and opined that some people may not agree with it.
