Peaceful voting in Keyi Panyor in Arunachal Pradesh is symbolic of the panchayat elections

Itanagar: Voters in Arunachal Pradesh’s Keyi Panyor district recorded peaceful and incident-free polling during the Panchayat elections held on December 15.

Polling took place smoothly across all six Zilla Parishad segments, with all 46 polling stations functioning without disruption.

Officials said the election process remained orderly throughout the day, with no untoward incident reported from any part of the district.

The district administration deployed robust security measures, enabling voters to cast their ballots in a safe and secure environment.

District Election Officer Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta, IAS, supervised the polling process with support from the Deputy District Election Officer and Superintendent of Police Angad Mehta, IPS.

The district police led security arrangements and maintained law and order, especially in sensitive areas.

The election administration credited polling parties, presiding officers, returning and assistant returning officers, sector magistrates and police personnel for ensuring smooth conduct of the polls.

Officials also appreciated the election branch led by the ADC-cum-Deputy DEO, nodal officers and the district police for their coordinated and professional approach.

The administration said close coordination between civil authorities and police prevented any escalation, despite initial concerns in some pockets.

Officials also acknowledged the cooperation of political parties and candidates in maintaining a calm atmosphere.
