Peace rally in Vijayawada, message of ‘No war – peace’

Andhra Pradesh: Amid growing concerns about ongoing conflicts in many parts of the world, a peace rally was held in Vijayawada on Tuesday. People from various walks of life participated in the rally, spreading the message, “No war – peace is sweet.” The event was organized by the Peace Forum Vijayawada.
Intellectuals, students, representatives of voluntary organizations, and leaders from various religious communities took part in the rally. Participants took to the streets carrying white flags and placards with messages. During the rally, people appealed for peace, brotherhood, and dialogue to resolve problems.
Participants noted that tensions and conflicts currently exist between many countries, impacting the common people. They emphasized that war benefits no one, and that ordinary citizens suffer the most. Therefore, maintaining global peace is essential.
Participants also displayed world maps, expressing solidarity with countries experiencing conflict or war. During the rally, participants conveyed the message that international disputes should be resolved through dialogue and agreement.
Members of the Peace Forum stated that the purpose of such events is to raise awareness among people so that they understand the importance of peace and coexistence. They also emphasized the responsibility of every segment of society to play their part in maintaining peace.
The rally included a march through various routes of the city. The police and administration provided necessary security, ensuring a peaceful event. At the end of the event, participants took a pledge to maintain peace and refrain from violence.
Local residents praised the initiative, calling it a timely gesture. They stated that such events send a positive message to society and unite people. Particular satisfaction was expressed with the participation of young people.
The rally sought to convey the message that resolution of any dispute is possible through dialogue and cooperation, not war. The event also demonstrated that people at the local level are aware of global issues and are raising their voices in favor of peace.
