Kawardha. Sugarcane farmers have got a big gift before the Holi festival. On the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory released a payment of Rs 5.22 crore on March 7, 2025 to bring happiness on the faces of sugarcane farmers before the festival of Holi.
During the crushing season 2024-25, sugarcane farmers have been paid at the rate of Rs 315.10 per quintal. So far, a total of Rs 50.21 crore has been paid by the factory, which has directly benefited thousands of farmers in the area. Under the guidance of Collector Gopal Verma, it is being constantly ensured that sugarcane farmers get payment on time. A total of 2.78 lakh metric tonnes of sugarcane was crushed by Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory in this season, producing 2.59 lakh quintals of sugar. This success will also strengthen the regional economy.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that our government considers the rights and respect of farmers paramount. We ensured that the farmers get their wages before Holi, so that they can celebrate the festival with happiness and self-reliance. He said that the state government is constantly working to strengthen the economic condition of the farmers and get them a fair price for their produce. This step of the government is creating enthusiasm among sugarcane farmers. Farmer families will now be able to celebrate Holi with more joy.
